Colored pencils

Colored pencils are made with a combination of color pigments and a binder, the intensity of the colored pencil varies depending on how much pressure is applied.
Commercially, water soluble colored pencils are the most used, because the intensity and effect can change just by adding water. It is up to the artist to decide whether to use a paint brush directly on top of what has been colored or dip the colored pencil itself into water and then draw.
